For a standard scheduled sweep we prefer 48 to 72 hours of lead time so we can assign the right team and produce an operational plan. We also support short-notice requests and urgent deployments, typically within 24 hours and sometimes same-day depending on team availability. For recurring engagements or events with long planning timelines, scheduling weeks or months in advance locks in availability.
A single K9 team can typically sweep a mid-size event venue in about an hour, including parking, staging, greenroom, and interior. Large venues, multi-floor facilities, or engagements that require continuous presence throughout the event will call for more time, additional teams, or scheduled re-sweeps. The operational plan produced during scoping will include a specific time estimate for your environment.
If the detection dog alerts on a target odor the handler immediately secures the area, notifies the client point of contact, and follows the pre-established alert response protocol. For explosives alerts this includes contacting law enforcement and the local bomb squad for the appropriate response. Our handlers do not handle or disturb potential devices. Yes. Professional detection dogs are selected and trained for stable temperament around people. They are working dogs, not aggressive dogs. That said, guests and staff should not pet or distract a working dog, and handlers will politely enforce that boundary during operations.
